Details Nationals of Switzerland who hold valid passports do not require visas to enter South Africa for bona fide holiday, business or conference visits of less than three (3) months. Nationals of all other countries are advised to contact their nearest South African representative for information on visa requirements. All persons wishing to enter the Republic of South Africa (RSA):
with the intention of taking employment/studies;or to participate in any sports event; or to take up permanent residence are required to obtain the necessary permits for the RSA.

Visa/entry authorisations are still required to enter the RSA in the following cases: career purposes, e.g. clergy who wish to address church meetings; or representatives of the media; or academics presenting lectures/participating in research; or performing artists
